Marti Speights passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 22, about 10:30 a.m, after a long and courageous fight against cancer.
Marti will be missed by so many. She was a radiant, delightful person. She always seemed to be having fun, yet she was also very dedicated to serving her community, the historic French Quarter, particularly through her volunteer work as a Board member of French Quarter Citizens. Marti's husband, David Speights, serves as Vice President of the Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates (VCPORA).
A Jazz Mass will be held Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 North Rampart, followed by a Jazz Funeral and a reception at the home of George and Josey Markey, 1000 Toulouse.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that you consider a gift to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 N. Rampart St., New Orleans, LA 70112, or to any breast cancer organization.
