Protocol for reporting street light outages (NOT traffic signals)
From the office of James Carter here is the the protocol for reporting street light outages
Call the Municipal Hotline at either
311 or 658-2299 to get a reference number.
They will ask you the following questions:
- They will ask you
your name, address and telephone number.
- They will ask you for
as precise an address as possible on the streetlight. (if there is
no address, is there an address directly across the street to use as a
reference?)
- They will ask you for
the cross streets
- They will ask you for
the “pole number”. It will be
something like “UA173”. It will
be on a white sticker, about 7 feet up the pole. Some lights will have the number,
others will not. But please check
before you call in the report.
- Finally, please make
a note of the reference number that the operator gives you. You can follow up on the status of the
light by using the reference number.
